About Weissr

Capital allocation expertise,built into software.

Weissr started in Sweden as Weissenrieder & Co, founded by Fredrik Weissenrieder and Daniel Lindén. Since 1994 they have advised capital intensive companies on their investment decisions.

They saw the same pattern again and again: projects approved one at a time, each with a good business case, without asking whether it was the best use of the capital available. In 2012 they began building their method into software, and in 2022 they set it out in Redesigning Capex Strategy, published by McGraw Hill. Read the full Weissr story.

Today Weissr is a Capex Platform connecting Capex strategy, capital budgeting and Capex management, with more than $700 billion in asset value analysed across over 1,000 production sites, and offices in Gothenburg and Riga. Since December 2025, Monterro has been our majority owner.

Our purpose is to help companies make capital allocation a lasting source of competitive advantage.

Our positioning

Why a CapexPlatform?

The work of capital allocation begins long before an investment request reaches approval. Companies need to consider how their business should develop, which assets to invest in and how different choices affect the performance of the whole organisation.

Weissr brings these strategic decisions into the same platform as capital budgeting and Capex management. The chosen investment strategy guides how capital is allocated and how individual investments move forward.

We call this a Capex Platform because better decisions are the purpose connecting every stage of the cycle.

A connected approach to deciding where capital should go and managing how it is used.

Our vision

The decision hubfor the entire Capex cycle.

Our vision is to become the leading global platform for the entire Capex cycle, covering strategy, budgeting and management, and to serve as the decision hub in enterprises' digital and AI-driven ecosystems.

We want Weissr to be where organisations bring together the information, expertise and judgement needed to make their capital investment decisions. A place to explore strategic alternatives, agree on priorities and connect those choices to the budgets and actions that follow.

As we develop the platform, our ambition is to help enterprises make greater use of connected data and AI throughout this process. People remain responsible for the decisions, supported by a clearer understanding of the options and their implications.

Our growth ambition

The expertise behind Weissr

Built on decades ofcapital allocation experience.

The thinking behind Weissr comes from more than 25 years of work with capital-intensive companies. That experience has shaped an approach that considers how assets and investment choices affect one another, with a focus on the company's long-term cash flow.

This methodology informs the platform, particularly Capex Strategy. It helps companies evaluate strategic alternatives across their operations and use the chosen direction to guide budgeting and investment decisions.

The book behind the approach.

In Redesigning Capex Strategy, published by McGraw Hill in 2022, Fredrik Weissenrieder and Daniel Lindén explain the methodology behind this work.

The book examines how companies can improve capital allocation by understanding the role of each asset within the wider business and considering the different investment paths available to them.

The people behindbetter capital decisions.

At Weissr, capital allocation expertise meets software development and a close understanding of our customers’ needs. We bring different perspectives to a shared ambition: helping companies make better decisions about where their capital goes.

We value curiosity and the willingness to think things through. That means taking time to understand a problem, listening to the people closest to it and being comfortable questioning an established approach. We believe good ideas deserve attention, regardless of who brings them to the table.

Building the leading global Capex Platform takes people who care about their work and each other. We want everyone at Weissr to have room to contribute, develop their expertise and take ownership, knowing they have colleagues to turn to for support.

As we grow, we want to preserve that close collaboration. Our customers’ experience should continue to shape what we build, and everyone on the team should be able to see how their work contributes.
